important email announcement
Please see below for an important email that was sent on May 16, 2026
Dear 2026-2027 Acts Academy Families,
New legislation was passed this week that impacts Homeschool Enrichment (HSE) programs in Colorado. These changes affect eligibility requirements for participation in programs like Lighthouse Academy.
At this time, after reviewing the new law and consulting with our leadership team and board, Lighthouse Academy will not be able to continue for the upcoming (26/27) academic year. The leadership at Lighthouse Academy is continuing to monitor the situation closely and will communicate immediately if anything changes.
What this means for families who were planning to enroll in Lighthouse Academy:
We recognize this is unexpected and discouraging news. We share in your disappointment and frustration with this decision from the Colorado legislature. Please know this decision was out of our control, and we are working to provide clarity and support during this transition.
If this change affects your 2026-2027 enrollment plans or if you are interested in private pay aftercare or academic support intervention for the upcoming year, please complete this form so we can better serve your family. If your family can no longer attend Acts Academy due to the discontinuation of Lighthouse, please provide written notification via email no later than Friday, June 5. After this date, contracts can not be adjusted and families will be responsible for the full financial commitment of the 26/27 academic year.
In addition to seeking legal counsel, we are actively pursuing grants for possible scholarships. While none of this is guaranteed, we want you to know we are looking into all avenues to keep Acts Academy as affordable as possible. If you have ideas, please let us know. We are always open to suggestions. We love this community and want to do everything we can to keep families here!
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. It is a privilege to walk alongside your family in the education and discipleship of your children. We know God will continue to provide for this ministry, just as He always has. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
All the best,
Brittany Dunn

What this means for families who were planning to enroll in Lighthouse Academy:
- Acts Academy’s schedule will remain Monday-Thursday with an end time of 2:30 PM each day.
- Aftercare and academic support intervention from 2:30-4:00 PM may be offered for an additional cost if there is enough interest from families.
- The 25% discount on Acts Academy tuition will no longer be able to be offered.
