statement of faith
- We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39, 16:13-15, 17:17, Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:21, 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 2:15)
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 1:35; John 5:21-23, 14:10, 16; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:8-10; James 2:19)
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, His ascension back to heaven, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:27-35; John 1:1, 14; Romans 1:3-6; Romans 3:25; Romans 6:9; Galatians 4:4; Philippians 2:6-11; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-2; Hebrews 9:14; 1 John 2:2)
- We believe humans are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of His creation. We were created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, we cannot attain a relationship with God through our own effort. We believe every human life is uniquely created, possesses dignity, is worthy of value, respect, and Christian love, and is to be fiercely protected in all its dimensions from conception through natural death. (Genesis 1:26-30, 2:7, 3; Psalm 8:3-6, 32:1-5, 51:5, 139; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32, 3:10-18 and 23, 5:6, 6:6, 7:14-25; 1 Corinthians 1:21-31, 15:19 and 21-22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22; 3:9-11)
- We believe the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way to salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin, Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. (Isaiah 1:18, 53:5-6; Matthew 1:21, 27:22-66, 28:1-6; Luke 1:68-69, 2:28-32; John 1:12, 3:16 and 36, 5:24; Acts 2:21, 4:12, 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18, 3:23-25, 5:8-10, 6; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:20, 3:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 9:24-28; Revelation 3:20)
- We believe our ultimate purpose while on earth is to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel, “making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20; Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 9:37-38; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-47; John 3:16, 4:35-38, 20:21; Acts 1:7-8, 2:1-47, 28:28)
This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The scriptures of the Old & New Testaments are the inerrant and inspired Word of God and speak with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind.
