Uniforms & DRESS CODE
All Students in Little Disciples - 8th grade are required to follow the Dress Code Guidelines. Uniforms are required for all students in Junior Kindergarten-8th grade, and are optional for Little Disciples students.
DRESS CODE STANDARDS FOR ALL STUDENTS:
- Please reference the Uniform FAQ linked below for specifics and examples of approved colors, tops, bottoms, etc.
- Students are expected to be well groomed at all times. Clothing must be clean and may not be ripped, torn, or frayed. No baggy or sloppy-looking clothes.
- Hair for all students must be clean, brushed and neatly trimmed. Hair may not be in the eyes, over the eyes or hinder proper sight. Hair color should be only natural colors (no blue, green, pink, purple, etc.).
- Shorts (boys and girls), skirts, skorts, or dresses (girls only) must be modest and no shorter than fingertip length. Fingertip length is measured by hanging your arms relaxed by your sides (no shrugged shoulders or curled fingers). When measuring, there should be no adjustment needed to meet the length requirements. If any skin is felt on the fingertips, the item is too short to wear in the building.
- Closed-toe shoes should be worn at all times. Crocs are allowed. Tennis shoes are required during P.E.
- Shoes do not need to follow uniform colors, but visible socks can be white, black or have an approved uniform color as the dominant color (accents of other colors are allowed).
- No logos other than Acts Academy Ministries logo will be permitted.
- Jeans or jean-like items are not permitted except on Spirit Day Thursdays.
- No hoodies or jackets with hoods (winter coats are permitted outside).
- Sweatshirts, pullovers, vests, sweaters, and cardigans are allowed over collared shirts as long as uniform guidelines/colors are followed. These items may not be worn as stand-alone items except for Spirit Day Thursdays.
- No hats in the building at any time.
- Students should be in dress code colors from neck to toes. This includes socks (dominant color) and any clothing worn under uniforms (such as shirts, leggings, or tights).
- Absolutely no midriff showing at any time.
- No bra straps or bralettes can show at any time.
- Sleeveless dresses may be worn with a collared short or long sleeve shirt in an approved uniform color underneath
- Dresses should be uniform dresses in solid colors, with no patterns or textures outside of plaid in uniform colors. This includes lace, tulle, eyelet, etc. We want to ensure students can play and move comfortably throughout the day.
- Shorts or leggings should always be worn under dresses and skirts for play on recess equipment.
- Leggings with back pockets are permitted. Leggings without back pockets are not permitted as stand-alone pants. However, leggings in an approved uniform color may be worn as tights with an appropriate skirt or dress.
- Hair accessories (bows, headbands, barrettes) are approved.
