why acts academy?
In Acts 2:42, from the English Standard Version, we learn of the unique, intimate yet simple aspects of the original Acts Church. “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." These four components embody the basic structure of Christian worship, and we strive to emulate these elements within the environment of Acts Academy.
Acts 2:44-46 continues, “And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people." The original Acts church was committed to serving and supporting each other by meeting and learning together, praising God, and reaching out to their community. Our goal at Acts Academy is to follow the early church’s example through our small educational setting, by partnering with families in the educational and spiritual growth of children, and by providing a supportive network of believers that desire to bring others to Christ.
Our children are sponges who soak up new information at a rapid rate. A recent study found that 83% of Christians in America made their first commitment to Jesus between the ages of 4-14. This critical and impressionable stage of life is short, and we believe a Bible-based, Christian education is one of the best investments you can make in your child’s future. It’s impossible to put a price tag on bringing God back to the forefront of the classroom while having Christian teachers and staff who will pour into your children on a daily basis. Students at Acts Academy attend daily chapel, receive regular Bible instruction that is woven into all curricula, and are continuously learning about what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. While education is critical to a child’s success, we believe a child’s spiritual health weighs just as heavily, and we are excited to partner with families in providing a strong Biblical foundation for children to thrive in a world that needs Jesus.
In addition to the benefits that come along with Bible-based, Christian education, Acts Academy employs a 4-day week schedule to encourage intentional family time, as we strongly believe in the importance of the core family unit. The purposeful built-in day at home on Fridays gives parents the opportunity to work with their children on assignments one-on-one, while also taking advantage of an extra day to invest in quality time making memories together. Our hope is that Fridays will become your family’s favorite day!
At Acts Academy, we prioritize: the Bible as the absolute truth, prayer, fellowship, and evangelism along with a thorough and comprehensive general education curriculum in order to fulfill our mission to create disciples. In Acts 2:47, we learn “And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved." As believers in Christ, this is our ultimate purpose, and we are excited to invite students, families, staff, and our community to join together at Acts Academy to further God’s kingdom!
